Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
What is RPL?
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a way for us to formally recognise the skills, knowledge and experience you’ve gained through work, volunteering or previous study.
Instead of completing the full training program, you can show evidence that you already meet the requirements of specific units in the qualification. This might include documents, reports, photos, references or other proof of your experience. An assessor reviews your evidence against the national training standards to confirm whether you’re already competent. If approved, you receive credit for those units, which can shorten your study time and make the qualification more accessible and personalised to your background.
RPL doesn’t lower the standard of the qualification — it simply acknowledges the learning you’ve already achieved.
